About Writeous Dude

Hi I’m Ben Piper, aka ‘Writeous Dude’. I am a Web Editor and Content Writer, currently creating copy for theatre ticketing websites. I also write about ‘eco gadgets’ (using recycled materials/solar power etc).

I am proficient in the use of Content Management Systems (CMS) and have a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop and HTML.

I currently work on a freelance basis and am always happy to discuss new projects!

BA Business Economics from the University of Leicester.

Stage Interests:

In my spare time I enjoy working in theatre production. I am an associate of the Stage Managers Association and Association of British Theatre Technicians.

I have backstage experience in a number of roles.

• Hairspray (Shaftesbury Theatre – Subtitles Operator)

• Oklahoma (Leeds Carriageworks – Sound Operator)

• The Graduate (Leeds Carriageworks – Stagehand)

• The Producers (West Yorkshire Playhouse – Stagehand)

• Boogie Nights (Bradford Playhouse – Set Builder)

Film Production Interests:

I’ve also worked on a number of short films through the Screenyorkshire Crew Database – serving as a Runner, Driver and Jib-Crane Crewman.

I have also appeared as an film extra. Blink and you’ll miss me in The Damned United!

Trivia:

• I am a big fan of Leeds United and can’t help purchasing any branded merchandise (no matter how tacky or expensive) that I see for sale in London. It’s the novelty value, damn it!

• I took four attempts at my driving test, passing under an amnesty in 2004.

• I am a beneficiary of numberous charities, including Children in Need and Canned Goods For Bermondsey.
